Our Story

The most significant stage in the development of Still Time Charity Foundation was when our founder, David Nwajei, visited his home town, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria for the first time after 17 years since he left the country for greener pastures. He was shocked at the state of what he saw; impoverished-community of men, women and young children who were highly vulnerable to the effects of destitution.

Despite its rich endowment of resources, including oil and minerals, 129 million people out of 232.6 million Nigerians are living below the poverty line. Many young women were engaging in prostitution due to poverty and/or domestic violence. They lacked food, sanitation, shelter, health care and education which they needed in order to survive and thrive.

From David’s observation, the historical events of the late 80s and early 90s did not foresee such a level of displacement in today’s society. This experience changed David’s life forever. He decided that he needed to make a change and respond differently to the economic fragility and domestic violence.

He committed himself to fighting for a better future for the less privileged. As a result, Still Time Charity Foundation was born. This initiative was hailed as a milestone in the journey to save lives.

Mr. Richard Nwoha (the Chief Coordinator), Idia Renaissance, and Mr. Ejike Asiegbu (former president of the Actor’s Guild of Nigeria) applauded David for his initiative.
